***Listen to the NPR (National Public Radio) Weekend Edition story, July 23, 2006, by Jeff Brady, titled "Salvage Construction Prompts Demolition Alternative" that includes the Nail Kicker in action:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5576479
This story is focused on a deconstruction project in New Orleans where materials are being salvaged for reuse.  Some points in the story are that deconstruction allows recovery of irreplaceable materials otherwise destined for the landfill, that denailing the material is a time-consuming disincentive when done manually, and that new technologies like the Nail Kicker are needed to help reuse become a mainstream alternative to demolition.
